Packing for Disney is like a personality test. It reveals exactly how dramatic we are as people. Here are the things we will absolutely bring too many of.
1. Mickey ears
Because choosing one pair is impossible. We need options for every mood.
2. Snacks
At least four per person per hour. Hunger is the true villain.
3. Suncream
One bottle for each limb. Possibly more.
4. Ponchos
We think we are prepared. Florida storms are here to laugh at us.
5. Flip flops
Even though we know we will live in trainers.
6. Portable chargers
We will still forget to actually charge them.
7. Matching outfits
The kids will refuse them. We will cry inside.
8. Swimsuits
We pack three each. They pack in mud every day. Still not enough.
9. Cooling towels
We will forget them at the villa daily.
10. Hair ties
We will still end up buying more in the gift shop.
11. Autograph books
We are convinced every character will sign ours. Probably will. Hopefully will.
12. Plasters
We are not trekking Everest but our feet will act like we are.
13. Toys
Why. There are actual rollercoasters.
14. Wet wipes
One hundred packs. Still not enough.
15. Extra socks
They will become soft toys for the TSA scanner.
16. Painkillers
For sore legs. And for the moment someone buys a bubble wand.
17. Emergency ponies (hair accessories)
Because a child without a ponytail is a national emergency.
18. Hats
The kids will lose them by day two.
19. Refillable water bottles
We will carry them around full and heavy and forget to drink.
20. The “just in case” items
We know we do not need them. We pack them anyway. They never leave the suitcase.
Overpacking is our love language. At least we will be prepared for absolutely everything. Except the one thing we forget. Obviously.
