Disney Movie Nights To Get Us Ready For Florida

We are officially in training for Disney. We are warming up with movie nights because the children must be mentally prepared for all the magic and I need an excuse to eat popcorn.

Here are our top picks.

Lilo and Stitch

We are practising the concept of Ohana which means family which also means nobody gets left behind even when they are having a meltdown on Main Street. A very relatable film.

Pocahontas

The children now think Florida will include cliff diving, singing to trees and raccoons that steal snacks. Honestly they might not be wrong.

Monsters Inc

We are ready for jump scares in dark rides and bonding with characters who look slightly terrifying. Also the children have declared they want to adopt a baby monster. Great.

Aladdin

Teaching the kids that if someone offers you three wishes you should immediately ask for unlimited snacks and fast passes. Orlando life skills.

Peter Pan

The kids now believe we will fly into Magic Kingdom if we think happy thoughts. Meanwhile I am just hoping they think happy thoughts while getting through airport security.

Maleficent

A reminder that villains are sometimes actually icons and that dramatic cheekbones make everything more powerful. I fully expect at least one child to request a staff and a pet raven.

These movie nights are adding to the excitement. The children are convinced they will meet every character within twelve seconds of arriving. I am convinced we will need a lot more popcorn.
