Universal is just different.
Where Disney brings the magic, Universal brings the adrenaline. The rides are bigger, faster, and a little bit more intense—and honestly, we loved that balance across the trip.
These were our absolute favourites… the ones we’d run back to without even thinking twice.
1. Stardust Racers (Epic Universe)
This ride felt like pure chaos in the best possible way.
Racing side-by-side at high speed, twisting and turning through the track—it’s one of those rides where you don’t even know where to look because everything is happening at once. The duelling element makes it feel competitive and unpredictable, which just adds to the fun.
It’s fast, it’s loud, and it’s one of those “what just happened?!” rides when you get off.
2. Donkey Kong: Mine-Cart Madness (Epic Universe)
This one is all about the experience.
It genuinely feels like you’ve stepped into the Donkey Kong game. The track effects are so clever that it looks like you’re jumping gaps and doing impossible stunts—it had all of us questioning how it even works.
It’s fun, slightly chaotic, and one the whole family can enjoy together.
3. VelociCoaster (Islands of Adventure)
This is hands down one of the best roller coasters we’ve ever been on.
It’s smooth, insanely fast, and doesn’t let up from start to finish. The launches, the inversions, the near-misses with the raptors—it’s intense in the best way.
That second launch alone? Unreal.
If you love thrill rides, this is a non-negotiable.
4. The Incredible Hulk Coaster (Islands of Adventure)
You feel this one before you even ride it.
That launch is powerful, straight out of the gate, and it just keeps going. It’s fast, forceful, and full of loops that leave you slightly disoriented (in a good way).
It’s a classic Universal coaster—and still one of the best.
5. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (Islands of Adventure)
This one completely lived up to the hype.
It’s not just a coaster—it’s a full experience. You’re switching between the motorbike and sidecar, travelling through the Forbidden Forest, with so many unexpected moments along the way.
It’s fast in parts, but also really immersive—and one of those rides where everyone gets off saying “that was SO good”.
6. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry (Ministry of Magic – Epic Universe)
This ride is on another level.
The scale of it is incredible—it genuinely feels like you’re inside the Ministry of Magic. The detail, the movement, the storytelling… everything about it feels massive.
It’s one of those rides where you don’t even know where to look because there’s so much going on. It’s immersive, exciting, and easily one of the most impressive rides we experienced.
7. Revenge of the Mummy (Universal Studios Florida)
This one is such a hidden gem.
It starts off feeling like a story-driven dark ride, and then suddenly—you're launched into full-on coaster mode. The mix of fire effects, darkness, speed, and surprises makes it feel completely different to anything else.
It’s slightly chaotic, a little bit intense, and so much fun. Definitely one we didn’t expect to love as much as we did.
Final Thoughts
Universal absolutely delivered when it came to rides.
From high-speed coasters to fully immersive worlds, these rides gave us that mix of adrenaline and “how did they even do that?” moments that we’ll be talking about for ages.
And if we had more time? We’d be straight back in those queues.
