Top 5 Disney Rides You Can’t Miss (Our Family Favourites)

There’s something about Disney rides that just hits differently. It’s not just the thrill—it’s the storytelling, the atmosphere, and those little details that stay with you long after you’ve left the park.

Out of everything we rode, these are the ones we’re still talking about…

1. TRON Lightcycle / Run (Magic Kingdom)

This one felt like stepping into a completely different world.

From the moment you see the glowing canopy at night, it’s unreal—but the real magic is when you’re on the ride. You’re leaning forward on the lightcycle, racing through neon lights at ridiculous speed, and it genuinely feels like you’re inside a video game.

It’s fast, smooth, and over way too quickly—but wow, it’s unforgettable.

Top tip: Ride it at night if you can. The atmosphere is next level.

2. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Magic Kingdom)

This ride surprised us in the best way.

It’s bright, joyful, and full of personality. The music, the characters, the colours—it just feels happy. And yes, you still get that big drop moment (which the kids absolutely loved… even if there were a few screams!).

It’s one of those rides where you come off smiling without even realising.

3. Expedition Everest (Disney’s Animal Kingdom)

This one is a proper thrill ride—and easily one of the best coasters in Disney.

The build-up through the mountain is so well done, and just when you think you know what’s coming… you don’t. The backwards section caught us all off guard and had everyone laughing (and slightly screaming).

And the Yeti? Even just catching a glimpse adds to the whole experience.

4. Tower of Terror (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)

This ride is all about the suspense.

The creepy hotel, the build-up, the storytelling—it pulls you in before you even get near the drop. And when it does drop… it’s that unpredictable, floaty feeling that gets you every time.

It’s one of those rides where you’re equal parts nervous and excited—and you still want to go again straight after.

5. Test Track (EPCOT)

This one was such a fun mix of interactive and thrill.

Designing your own car beforehand makes it feel more personal, and then the outdoor speed section is just pure fun. Hitting those high speeds with the wind rushing past—everyone came off this one buzzing.

It’s not just a ride, it’s an experience from start to finish.

Final Thoughts

If we had to sum it up, these rides gave us a bit of everything—thrill, storytelling, laughter, and those “did that just happen?!” moments.

Disney really does know how to make rides that stick with you.

And honestly? We’d queue for every single one of these again.
