One thing we didn’t expect to love as much as we did… was collecting autographs.
We brought an autograph book along thinking it would be a nice little extra for the kids—but it ended up becoming a really special part of the trip.
The Autographs We Collected
We didn’t collect loads—and that was actually intentional.
The queues for character meet and greets were ridiculous at times, and honestly, the kids preferred rides. So we didn’t spend hours waiting around just to tick characters off.
But we still managed to meet a few:
- Daisy Duck
- Moana
- Judy Hopps
- Nick Wilde
- Pocahontas
- Minnie Mouse
- Mickey Mouse
- Pluto
- Goofy
And having those signatures? It still felt really special.
Why It Meant More Than We Expected
At first, it feels like “just a signature”.
But it’s not really about that.
It’s:
- The interaction
- The moment of meeting them
- The excitement of it happening naturally
- The kids actually wanting to be there
Because we didn’t force it, every autograph we did get felt more meaningful.
Why We Didn’t Chase Them All
This was a conscious choice for us.
We could’ve spent hours in queues meeting characters… but that would’ve meant:
- Less time on rides
- More waiting around
- Tired, impatient kids
And for our family, that just wasn’t worth it.
So we did it when:
- The queue was reasonable
- The kids were interested
- It fit naturally into our day
What We’d Do Again
We wouldn’t change a thing.
- Bring the autograph book
- Keep a pen handy
- Don’t stress about getting loads
Because you don’t need loads for it to be special.
Final Thoughts
You don’t have to meet every character to make it worthwhile.
For us, it was about the moments—not the numbers.
And the few we did get? They’ll always remind us of those little pockets of magic in between everything else.
