A Letter to Myself Before Disney

Dear me,

You have waited for this. You have dreamed of it and planned it and worried about every little detail. Now it is almost here and you deserve to enjoy every single moment.

You might spend the days leading up to the trip stressing about packing and passports and making sure everyone has enough socks. Try to breathe. The small things will work out. The magic will happen even if the socks do not match.

There will be moments on this holiday when the kids are tired or the queues feel long or someone is crying because they dropped a snack. Do not let those moments take away the bigger picture. You are making memories, even in the chaos.

When you see the castle for the first time, let yourself feel it. You are allowed to be the excited one too. You do not have to rush to the next thing. Stand there. Look around. Take it in.

Be in the photos. Even the sweaty ones. Even the ones where you do not feel perfect. One day you will look back and be glad you were in the moments with them. They will too.

Swim with the kids. Eat the treats. Stay up late for the fireworks. Laugh when things go wrong. You do not have to be a perfect mum on this trip. You just have to be there.

You are giving your family something they will remember forever. That is what matters. Not the outfits. Not the schedule. Not the pressures you feel.

This is the holiday you hoped for on the days that felt hard. This is the joy you promised yourself you would find again.

So let go a little. Smile a lot. And enjoy the magic that is finally yours.

You have earned this.

Love,

Me

xoxo
